Anahuac Lodge No. 3 is one of the English speaking lodges of District No. 1 and works under the jurisdiction of the York Grand Lodge of Mexico F.&A.M. It holds its Stated Communications on the first Wednesday of every month. It also summons its members on the third Wednesday of each month for a Called Communication with the exception of December.
It has shared with Toltec Lodge No. 1 the high responsibility and honour to preserve the ongoing York masonic regularity in our country for more than a century. Its Charter was granted on April 18th, 1891. Nonetheless, records in the archives substantiate that this lodge was actively working under the jurisdiction of the –then– Gran Logia Valle de Mexico, as Anahuac Lodge No. 141, possibly thirty years before receiving its Charter and with it a new lodge number. At that time the Lodge Hall was in Puerta Falsa de San Andrés Street No. 14, and the Communications were held every first and third Wednesday at 20:30 hrs.
From 1891 a total of 93 brethren have faithfully served as Worshipful Master of their lodge. To that, we deem essential to add that 28 brethren from Anahuac Lodge No. 3 have also been duly elected and served as Grand Master of this jurisdiction, a fact that speaks loudly of their zeal to assist and participate in the most important matters concerning the York Grand Lodge of Mexico F.&A.M.
Anahuac Lodge No. 3 brothers are extremely conscientious regarding the preservation of masonry according to our Grand Lodge Constitution and Ritual. They are punctilious to perform the opening and closing ceremonies and also all the degree work by heart. The lodge opens at 20:00 hrs sharp.
Throughout its long-lasting history Anahuac Lodge No. 3 has been a beacon of reference of regular and well-performed masonry in this jurisdiction and indeed in this country. Those of us who share the high honour bestowed to us by belonging to this lodge shall keep the values and traditions that truly define Anahuac Lodge No. 3.
